~Delightfully made~

~Psalms 139:13-18~ For you created my inmost being;
you knit me together in my mother’s womb.
14 I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made;
your works are wonderful,
I know that full well.
15 My frame was not hidden from you
when I was made in the secret place,
when I was woven together in the depths of the earth.
16 Your eyes saw my unformed body;
all the days ordained for me were written in your book
before one of them came to be.
17 How precious to me are your thoughts,[a] God!
How vast is the sum of them!
18 Were I to count them,
they would outnumber the grains of sand
when I awake, I am still with you.
After taking lunch to my son at school this morning, since he had forgotten it at home... I turned the radio on.
The radio DJ was asking, "We often say the words 'Jesus loves you', but what about 'Jesus *likes* you'?"
 Dj proceeded to describe that when humans finish lengthy projects or put together a challenging craft, they feel very pleased with the final product; they *Like* it!
Since God made us,  He "likes" and delights in us, too.
I could not relate with what Dj was saying.
I see all the imperfections in anything I make or create, and am driven crazy when I look at it.
I have learned to not make anything for myself, because I end up not using or enjoying it. I'll put it away in a closet and eventually forget about it.
Now, if someone made something for me- that's different!  I gladly accept handmade gifts from others, and rarely even notice their imperfections [don't get the wrong idea here :)].
As I reached to turn off the radio, a thought smacked me between the eyes.  "... I can't relate, because God is *perfect*... and that's why God delights in His creation (His perfect handiwork)."
So ... when I have my terrible "mom days"; when I am lacking; when I want to keep my head covered in the blankets and not face the day ....
When I see my glaring sinful mistakes; my irrational thoughts & fears; my emptiness; my incomplete-ness; my faithlessness ...
God continues to delight in His creation ... in spite of all my imperfection.
He doesn't hide me and forget me in closets ...
There is something else He sees in me through the frame of Christ's Cross (and wants me to cry to Him in my "helpless" state)!
~What a wonderful, beautiful mystery~
Be encouraged and thankful today!
God is perfect, and He "likes" His creation.  :)
